Welcome to the Safety Net Resource Center

The center was established by the Detroit Wayne County Health Authority to improve the capacity of safety net organizations to deliver health care for the uninsured and underinsured.

The four major components of the Safety Net Resource Center include:

  1. Analysis - The center produces annual safety net status reports.
  2. Collaboration - The center brings groups together to expand access to primary care for the uninsured and Medicaid.
  3. Information - The center is building a data resource on Medicaid and the uninsured population in Wayne County that can be used for safety net planning and advocacy.
  4. Funding - The center supports mechanisms, such as demonstration projects, that attract financial resources for safety net providers that will ensure long term safety net sustainability.

The Safety Net Information System website is designed to be a resource for Safety Net advocates, planners, providers and policy analysts.  This website is designed to improve access to basic information about health care in our community.  More detailed reports are referenced on subsequent pages. The information system also provides a detailed list of safety net providers by community and zip code.
